It looks like I left a few things out between the April post and now...
The teacher's daughter had to have an emergency surgery towards the end of the school year, and she had to take the last week of school off. They asked me to come in and cover for her. Aside from the reason why, the opportunity was great! Alexis got to attend the last week of school with her classmates and it was fun for me, too. Additionally, Alexis got to have someone qualified in her needs (me) lead the class and she didn't need a 1:1 assistant sitting right next to her every moment of her day.
When school ended the principal said we should just wait until closer to the beginning of the school year and see what we can all make work. She even talked about the possibility of me doing some teaching. Apparently though, they have already decided they are not at all interested in trying. So, I guess nothing has really changed since the April update, it is just that I had a glimmer of hope in between.
I had mentioned the thought of creating a school and asked for prayers. I guess they worked, because I have come to my senses. It's an absurd idea coming from me. Nothing I have tried over the past several years has worked. It's not a poor-me story, just the facts. Thus, I am tired of trying, and I give up. My daughter and I have been known to have fun in life through unconventional ways. I guess that is just how our life is meant to be. Convention and normalcy does not seem to be for us. Oh well, c'est la vie, or at least, such is our life.
Namaste!
